Massive Drug Bust in Agadir: 1.7 Tons of Chira and 700 Ecstasy Tablets Seized

The Agadir police arrested four individuals involved in an international drug trafficking network. These arrests were possible, following information provided by the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST). It was during two separate operations, based on this information, that the investigators seized more than 1.7 tons of Chira and 700 ecstasy tablets.

Four individuals with criminal records were stopped by elements of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST) of Agadir, as they were about to pour large quantities of drugs and psychotropics into the streets of the city for sale.

Two of them, according to Al Akhbar, are members of an international drug trafficking network. For sources close to the Wilaya Security, the police services, thanks to information provided by the DGST, carried out two separate operations.

The first, carried out on Saturday, September 14, resulted in the arrest of two individuals aged 41 and 42, who had in their possession 1.630 tons of Chira, as well as a significant sum of money. The two accused were taken into custody and were to be brought before the Public Prosecutor’s Office on Tuesday, September 17.

The second raid carried out by the police, the same day, was this time aimed at the perpetrators of drug and psychotropic trafficking. An operation that led to the arrest of two individuals, both 24 years old, in possession of 520 Ecstasy tablets.

Al Akhbar reports that the two accused were also taken into custody for further investigation under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, in order to determine the ins and outs of this case and to apprehend all those involved in this criminal network.
