Moroccan Police Seize 1.65 Tons of Cannabis in Major Drug Bust Near Marrakech

Based on information provided by the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), the Judicial Police of Chichaoua, supported by that of Marrakech, proceeded, early Thursday, to the seizure of 1.65 tons of chira.
This quantity of drugs, according to the MAP, was seized at the entrance of the city of Chichaoua on board a truck registered in Morocco and driven by a 36-year-old man.
According to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), an inflatable boat used in maritime trafficking was also seized during this operation, which brings to a significant amount of drugs intercepted by the security forces since the beginning of this October.
The arrested man was placed in custody pending the continuation of the investigation initiated to shed light on this whole affair, which is part of the efforts made by the security services against international drug and psychotropic trafficking.
