Mason Arrested in Casablanca for Impersonating Journalist During Lockdown

A mason was arrested on Wednesday in Casablanca while driving his vehicle, equipped with a "press" badge.
What a strange journalist! The elements of the Médiouna district Security, on duty to enforce the state of emergency, were surprised to make this unusual discovery.
Taken for a journalist at first, the accused, during the check of his identity, turned out to be a mason. He was using this "Press" badge, displayed on the window of his car, to get out of trouble.
Arrested, the defendant was brought before the competent prosecutor’s office for the purposes of the investigation.
To curb the spread of covid-19, the kingdom declared a state of health emergency and confinement on March 25. The duration of these measures has been extended for another four weeks. In the last 24 hours, 3,277 people have been arrested, of whom 1,820 have been taken into custody, according to Tuesday’s statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
