Marrakech Tourism Booms: Hotels Near Full Capacity for Winter Season

The winter season looks promising for tourism in Marrakech. While the ochre city has reached an excellent level of hotel bookings, other cities are struggling to keep up with the competition.
"The situation is very good and concretely, we will, this year again, certainly come close to 100% hotel occupancy. Normally, all classified establishments, from 1 to 5 stars as well as guest houses, will be fully booked," said Fouzi Zemrani, vice-president of the National Confederation of Tourism (CNT).
He is convinced that given the programs, events and entertainment offered, the beautiful things that are being put in place, there is no reason why hoteliers should not be full in the ochre city.
"Unlike Marrakech, Rabat has not recorded many hotel bookings for the end-of-year holiday period to date. For now, there is no interested international clientele," said Hassan Bargach, president of the Regional Tourism Council (CRT).
However, he promises to fight to change things. Still, he cannot help but insist on one fact: "We have to recognize that Marrakech has really taken the lead as well as the seaside resort of Agadir, to a lesser extent".
