Agadir Tourism Booms: French Visitors Lead Record-Breaking 5.3 Million Overnight Stays
The tourism sector in Agadir is increasingly confirming its good health. The city recorded 5,387,406 tourist nights in 2019, an increase of 2.86% compared to 2018 which had recorded 5,237,488 nights.
According to data published by the Regional Tourism Council (CRT) of Agadir Souss-Massa, nationals are at the top of the clientele of this seaside resort with a total of 1,219,893 nights, compared to 1,055,199 in 2018, an increase of 15.61%. The French are in second place, with 1,182,118 nights, compared to 1,055,508 in 2018. They are followed by the Germans, with 884,068 nights. British tourists are in 4th place, with 770,155 nights, an increase of 15.46%.
As for the ranking of accommodation, 4-star hotels are in the lead, with 1,608,587 nights, followed by tourist clubs with 1,554,781 nights, and 5-star hotels which recorded 1,056,843 nights.
The same source indicates that the average occupancy rate recorded in the classified hotels in the city of Agadir reached 55.12%, an increase of 1.76 points.
