Agadir Tourism Surges: French Visitors Lead 3.8% Growth in January

The city of Agadir started the year with a 3.81% growth in the number of tourists who stayed in the various hotels, clubs and tourist residences.
In January 2020, 78,744 tourists visited Agadir in January 2020, compared to 75,852 during the same period in 2019, according to data from the Regional Tourism Council (CRT) of Agadir-Souss Massa.
The same source indicates that Nationals are in the lead with a total of 27,092, compared to 24,301 in January 2019, an increase of 11.49%. They are followed by French tourists with 16,343 arrivals (+15.68%), followed by Germans (8,374) and British (6,865).
As for the "4-star" hotels, they welcomed the largest number of tourists in January, with 21,791. The "5-star" hotels are in 2nd place (18,398), followed by tourist clubs (14,722) and tourist residences (9,135).
In addition, the occupancy rate recorded in the various classified tourist accommodation establishments in this destination is estimated at 48.41%.
