Agadir Tourism Soars: February Sees 14% Surge in International Visitors

Nearly 92,000 tourists of all nationalities visited the city of Agadir during the month of February last, compared to 80,437 arrivals during the same period last year, an increase of 14.36%.
According to statistics from the Regional Tourism Council (CRT) of Agadir Souss-Massa, Moroccans occupy the first place in terms of clientele of the various tourist accommodation establishments, with a total of 25,785 visitors compared to 23,453 in February 2019 (+9.94%).
They are followed by French tourists with 21,989 arrivals. The British are in 3rd place (10,964), followed by the Germans (10,392).
As for the hotels classified "4 stars", they welcomed the largest number of tourists, i.e. 24,510, followed by the hotels classified "5 stars" (22,700), the tourist clubs (20,144) and the tourist residences (9,820).
The occupancy rate in the various classified tourist accommodation establishments in this destination is estimated at 57.79%.
The figures, unfortunately, should be catastrophic for the month of March and probably for the coming months due to the coronavirus pandemic sweeping the planet.
