Agadir Tourism Surges: French Visitors Lead 5% Growth in First Half of Year

Tourists have again been very numerous to visit Agadir during the first half of this year. A 5.25% increase was recorded, compared to the same period last year, with the French being the top visitors.
According to figures released by the Regional Tourism Council (CRT), the number of overnight stays recorded in the classified hotels, residences and tourist clubs in the city reached 2,364,012 in the first half of the current year, compared to 2,246,045 during the same period of the previous year.
Several nationalities have bet on Agadir. France is the leading source market with 581,750 tourist nights, up 11.32% compared to the same period last year (552,573 nights).
Tourists from Germany come in second place, with 444,371 nights against 428,029 in 2018, an increase of 3.82%. Visitors from the various Moroccan cities occupy third place with 373,701 tourist nights, up 20.40%. The 4th position is occupied by British tourists with 366,841 tourist nights, an increase of 20.13%.
Regarding the ranking by accommodation units, the same source specifies that the tourist clubs come in first place with 712,806 nights, followed by 4-star hotels (496,429 tourist nights), 5-star hotels (474,142 tourist nights) and tourist residences (215,620 tourist nights).
Meanwhile, the average occupancy rate in the classified hotels, residences and tourist clubs in this national seaside resort is 51.12% compared to 49.50% in the same period last year.
All these performances confirmed by the statistics place Agadir among the destinations most favored by foreign tourists.
