Marrakech Tops French Travel Destinations for Easter Holidays

The French want to travel during the Easter holidays and many are setting their sights on a Moroccan city, which is already their favorite destination.
Already the favorite destination of the French in 2024 at Liligo, Marrakech is the most sought-after city for the Easter holidays, with a round-trip price of 349 euros, reports Air Journal. Portugal dominates the top 10: Lisbon and Porto complete the podium. Three overseas destinations: Pointe à Pitre, Saint-Denis De La Réunion and Fort de France are also in the ranking of the cities most sought after by the French for the Easter holidays.
"The previous year, the French were considering a decrease in their vacation budget. For 2025, the trend is reversing, with an average budget of 2,467 euros per person, says Guillaume Rostand, spokesperson for Liligo. For these Easter holidays, Marrakech seems to be the preferred choice, often at the top of the ranking of favorite destinations for the French for their holidays."
He continues: "Although this is not surprising regarding Marrakech as well as the other European destinations in the top 10 such as Lisbon, Porto or Barcelona, the Overseas, on the other hand, less expensive than in previous years, is holding its own with a higher volume of searches. Good news also for the French who want to go to the sun while being careful with their wallet. Several destinations in southern Europe, such as Bergamo or Girona, are accessible for less than 150 euros."
