Marrakech Police Arrest Six Young Adults for Drug Possession and Emergency Violations

The elements of the prefectural judicial police service of Marrakech proceeded, on Tuesday, to the arrest of six individuals, aged between 19 and 23 years old. They would be involved in a case of theft of a seized object, and prosecuted for violation of the state of health emergency and possession of drugs and psychotropic substances.
One of the suspects had been arrested by a police patrol for flagrant violation of the state of health emergency, indicates the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) in a press release. At the time of his arrest, the defendant had abandoned the motorcycle he was driving on the public road, before fleeing.
The territorially competent police district opened a preliminary investigation into this case and seized the motorcycle for the needs of the investigation, continues the same source, noting that the accused had taken possession of the seized motorcycle and hidden it in a house.
The research and investigations carried out proved fruitful: the suspects were identified and arrested, the motorcycle recovered. Similarly, the investigators proceeded to seize a quantity of cannabis resin and psychotropic tablets that were in their possession.
Pending the elucidation of this case, the accused were placed in custody.
