Moroccan Police Arrest Two Suspects in Laâyoune Human Trafficking Operation

Elements of the judicial police service of the Laâyoune police prefecture arrested two individuals aged 37 and 38, one of whom is Mauritanian. They would be involved in illegal immigration and human trafficking activities.
The two suspects were arrested at the level of the Boulevard de la Grande Ceinture in Laâyoune, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN). During a search in a residence located in the Al Aouda district, the investigators proceeded to the arrest of 20 candidates for illegal immigration.
The searches carried out in this residence resulted in the seizure of a 4x4 vehicle used by the suspects for the transport of immigration candidates, in addition to four inflatable boats, three GPS devices, a set of license plates, and mobile phones used in this criminal activity, it is specified.
Pending the determination of the possible ramifications of this criminal network, and the arrest of other accomplices, the accused were placed in custody.
