Marrakech Police Arrest Serial Rapist Who Lured Victims with False Marriage Promises

The elements of the Judicial Police proceeded to the arrest of an individual in Douar Ras Al Aïn in the commune of Zemrane, located about forty kilometers from Marrakech. The man was actively sought by the National Security and Royal Gendarmerie services for cases of kidnapping and rape followed by theft under threat of a bladed weapon.

It took a police inspector firing a warning shot for the suspect to be overpowered and arrested, according to the General Directorate of National Security (DSGN).

The preliminary investigation revealed that the 54-year-old suspect was committing his crimes in the suburbs of Marrakech or in the Youssoufia region. He was in the habit of promising marriage to some of his victims, women, before scamming them and, among other things, raping them.

For now, he has been taken into custody and an investigation is underway to determine all the crimes he is accused of. It is also a matter of identifying the ins and outs of this case.
