Marrakech overtakes Barcelona as French travelers’ top destination in 2026
Marrakech becomes the most-booked destination among French travelers on eDreams ODIGEO platforms in 2026. The ochre city dethrones Barcelona, which topped the ranking the previous year, according to the travel group’s latest annual report published on Tuesday, November 3.
In its 2026 report, eDreams ODIGEO ranks Marrakech ahead of Barcelona and Lisbon for bookings made by travelers from France. Porto comes in fourth, followed by Palma de Mallorca, Djerba, Madrid, Rome, Istanbul and Nice.

The ranking’s leader changed in a year. In 2025, Barcelona held first place and Marrakech was second, ahead of Lisbon, according to the previous eDreams ODIGEO report.
Other changes appear in the top 10. Paris, which ranked tenth in 2025, has dropped out of the ranking and been replaced by Nice. Djerba has climbed from ninth to sixth place.
Although Marrakech tops bookings by French travelers, Barcelona remains the most-booked destination among all eDreams ODIGEO customers in 2026. The Spanish city ranks ahead of Madrid, Paris, Palma de Mallorca and London.

Marrakech had already made a strong advance in another tourism ranking in October. For the All Saints’ Day holidays, it rose from 22nd to first place among destinations searched for flights recorded by Bourse des Vols.
