Marrakech to Host World Bank and IMF Annual Meetings in 2021 Despite Pandemic Setbacks

The city of Marrakech is not letting the blow dealt by the pandemic to its tourism activity get it down. Already, it is preparing to host the annual meetings of the World Bank Group (WBG) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in October 2021.
Marrakech is on the path to regaining its dynamism. It will host the annual meetings of the World Bank Group (WBG) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) from October 11 to 17, 2021. Thus, despite the Covid-19 pandemic, the city continues to be one of the most popular and attractive destinations in the world.
More than 16,000 personalities are expected at this meeting. A 23-hectare village (excluding parking and service areas), 46 conference spaces ranging from 200 m² to 1,400 m², and a 5,000 m² plenary hall will be set up. In addition, there will be 650 office spaces spread over 48 buildings of 500 m² and 400 m², a media center, an exhibition space for NGOs, restaurants, a participant accreditation area, medical centers, and security posts.
This will be a strategic communication opportunity for the country, which will highlight the assets of the Kingdom. The opportunity to talk about economic, cultural, and religious openness, marked by moderation and tolerance, openness to change and innovation, and the progress made by the country over the past two decades in the social, societal, industrial, economic, and financial spheres.
