World Bank and IMF Postpone 2021 Morocco Meetings to 2022 Due to COVID-19

The meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) which were to be held in October 2021 in Marrakech have been postponed by one year. This is the decision made by the two institutions due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Even though the World Bank and the IMF have commended Morocco for its management of the Coronavirus pandemic, precautions are currently required, especially since the authorities fear a second wave of contamination that will be much tougher than the first.
The meetings that have just been postponed bring together central bank governors, finance and development ministers, private sector executives, civil society representatives, the media and academics from around the world.
They discuss "general interest issues such as the global economic outlook, global financial stability, the fight against poverty, inclusive economic growth and job creation, and climate change".
