Marrakech: An Algerian arrested with a Polisario t-shirt at the Grand Stadium
An Algerian national was apprehended on Saturday near the Grand Stadium of Marrakech. He was attempting to enter the stands of the 2025 CAN with a t-shirt displaying prohibited political symbols.
During the routine checks before the Algeria-Nigeria match, the security services intercepted the supporter. The latter was wearing a t-shirt bearing the Algerian flag associated with the emblem of the Polisario. The man was immediately arrested and the garment was seized by the authorities, in accordance with the regulations that prohibit any political propaganda in the stadiums.
The supporter was brought before the public prosecutor’s office for the opening of legal proceedings. In parallel, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) took an immediate administrative measure by banning him from accessing the stadium. A second similar incident was also reported in Marrakech.
