Marrakech Airport Sees 86% Plunge in Passenger Traffic Amid Pandemic

The Marrakech-Menara international airport recorded a 86.61% drop in the number of passengers in January 2021 compared to the same period in 2020, according to the latest statistics from the National Airports Office.
During this period, this airport recorded some 68,346 passengers compared to 510,414 travelers, it is specified. In January 2020, the airport infrastructure occupied the 2nd place nationally in terms of aircraft movement traffic with 21.38%. It is preceded by Mohammed V International Airport (43.94%) and followed by Agadir Al Massira International Airport (7.82%).
Last January, the Marrakech/Paris-Orly flight ranked 2nd among international air routes with a 4.12% share and 21,170 passengers. It is preceded by the Casablanca/Paris-Orly line (5.96% and 30,624 passengers) and finally the Mohammed V airport in Casablanca/Paris-CDG (3% and 15,449 passengers).
At the national level, Moroccan airports recorded some 638,806 passengers in January 2021, down 68.39% compared to the same period last year.
