Marrakech Airport Passenger Numbers Reach 1.7 Million, Showing Post-Pandemic Recovery

In the first half of the year, the number of passengers who transited through Marrakech airport reached 1,764,080, according to data from the National Airports Office (ONDA).
This volume represents a recovery rate of 56% for passengers compared to the same period in 2019 (3,146,234 passengers), the office said in its latest commercial air traffic report, noting that this is the Moroccan airport that received the most passengers in the first half of the year.
In terms of traffic, the number of flights at this airport was set at 14,016 at the end of June, a recovery rate of 63% compared to the same period in 2019 (22,197 flights), the same source notes.
For the month of June alone, the number of passengers who transited through the ochre city was 454,149 through 3,331 flights. The share of Marrakech airport thus represents 20% of the traffic recorded at the kingdom’s airports.
In total, Moroccan airports welcomed 7,439,275 passengers through 70,680 flights. This represents, according to the office, a recovery rate compared to the same period in 2019 of 64% for passengers.
