Morocco’s Casablanca Airport Sees 71% Passenger Recovery as Travel Rebounds

From February 7, the date of the reopening of Morocco’s air borders, to the end of March, the number of travelers who transited through Casablanca International Airport amounted to 937,818, a recovery rate of 71% for passengers and 75% for airport movements, compared to 2019.
In March alone, Mohammed V Airport welcomed 565,484 passengers through 5,330 flights. This commercial traffic volume represents a recovery rate compared to March 2019 of 71% for passengers and 75% for airport movements, according to the National Airports Office (ONDA).
In general, about 2,228,723 passengers passed through Moroccan airports during the same period, through 21,330 flights, the office said, adding that all airport terminals recorded a commercial traffic volume of 1,452,030 passengers and 13,543 flights, a recovery rate of 70% for passengers and 80% for movements compared to the same period in 2019.
As for freight, it recorded a recovery rate of 83% in March compared to the same period in 2019. It stood at 6,796 tons compared to 8,221 tons in the same period in 2019.
