Moroccan Airports See 79% Recovery in Passenger Traffic, Nearing Pre-Pandemic Levels

Moroccan airports recorded more than 12 million passengers during the first ten months of the year, a recovery rate of 79% compared to the same period in 2019, according to the National Airports Office (ONDA).
The recovery rate in Moroccan airports is progressing significantly with a commercial traffic volume of 16,546,802 and 142,284 airport movements recorded at the end of October. For the month of October alone, some 2,191,055 passengers and 16,850 airport movements were recorded, the office said.
Casablanca’s Mohammed V Airport is doing well with 759,360 passengers through 6,084 flights at the end of October, with recovery rates of 101% and 94% respectively compared to the same period in 2019. In October, this airport platform recorded 221,012 passengers through 6,084 flights.
International air traffic, for its part, recorded 1,970,043 passengers during the month, a recovery rate of 104% compared to October 2019. For cumulative international traffic since the beginning of the year, the Kingdom’s airports have welcomed 14,790,085 passengers, a recovery rate of 80%.
As for domestic traffic, its recovery rate is currently around 81% for the period to the end of October with 221,012 passengers. This rate is 70% for the period from January to the end of October with 1,756,717 passengers welcomed. As for air freight, it recorded a recovery rate of 66% in October 2022 compared to the same period in 2019.
