Morocco "does not mistreat" the Algerian detainee Raouf Belkacemi

The administration states that the prisoner is staying in an individual cell and enjoys all the health rights and benefits provided by law. No disciplinary incident has been reported since his arrival, and his detention process is proceeding without any exceptional measures. To support this transparency, the DGAPR specifies that a representative of the Algerian consulate was able to make a financial deposit into the detainee’s personal account for his daily needs, confirming regular diplomatic monitoring.

On the legal level, the man is being prosecuted for acts of indecency and public morals committed during a sporting event. His trial, which was initially scheduled for this week, has been postponed to Monday, January 19. This delay should allow his lawyers to finalize the preparation of his defense before the Rabat court.
