CAN 2025: An Algerian supporter arrested in Morocco after a shocking video
The Moroccan security services have arrested an Algerian national in Casablanca. The individual is subject to legal proceedings after the dissemination of a video showing him urinating in the stands of the Moulay El Hassan stadium in Rabat.
The events took place during the round of 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations between Algeria and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). According to the information reported by Barlamane.com, the supporter filmed himself urinating in the stands, even though the sports venue has public restrooms available.
The video, widely shared on social media, sparked a wave of outrage, as the act was described as an indecent behavior and a violation of the basic rules of conduct in sports venues.
Following his identification and arrest in Casablanca, the accused has been placed under legal proceedings in accordance with the applicable legislation. This intervention by the authorities aims to sanction conduct that undermines public order and the image of the continental competition.
