Manhunt Continues for Moroccan Suspect in Spanish Student’s Fatal Hit-and-Run

Sunday 20 November 2022, by Prince

Exactly one year ago, Claudia San Roman Medina, a 20-year-old medical student, was the victim of a traffic accident as she was returning home.

November 20 is celebrated as World Day of Victims of Road Traffic Accidents. It was on this date last year that the young woman died, after being hit by a car in front of the gate of her home as she was returning from an outing with friends. On Saturday, her parents left the Canary Islands where they live to attend the mass celebrated in her memory and in memory of all the victims of accidents.

A year later, the Judicial Police Traffic Unit continues to investigate this accident. The judge had issued a national search and arrest warrant against the alleged perpetrator, Abdelhak L., a 24-year-old man of Moroccan origin, against whom he has recently issued a European arrest warrant, reports ABC. According to the investigators, the fugitive driver would be abroad. He is listed by the police as a dangerous criminal, author of several violent thefts and assaults against law enforcement officers.

Abdelhak contacted his wife by phone before fleeing. "I love you, but I have to leave," he told her. He closed all his social networks and did not return to his neighborhood, Entrevías (Puente de Vallecas), where he abandoned his vehicle, a black Citroën C2. The phone used by the Moroccan belonged to an Eastern European woman and is usually used by criminals, say sources close to the case.

Abdelhak had gone out that night with three friends. One of them was arrested and then released after it was proven that he was in a nightclub in Arturo Soria at the time of the events. The Moroccan and the other two, David J. and Álvaro S., were going to sell drugs to a student or planning to commit a theft, according to the investigators. The Moroccan is wanted for serious negligent homicide.
