Moroccan Man Arrested in Spain for Alleged 2021 Rape of German Tourist

National police agents in Manacor (Majorca) arrested on Thursday a 28-year-old Moroccan as the alleged perpetrator of the rape of a German tourist that occurred in June 2021 on a beach in the municipality.

The events took place on June 2, 2021 on a beach in Manacor where the Moroccan is said to have taken and raped the German victim he met in a bar. Back in her country, the tourist filed a complaint with the German authorities who issued a European arrest warrant against the Moroccan at the end of September 2021, reports Sport.

The Moroccan was located and finally arrested on Thursday at his home in Manacor. He is known to the police for having been arrested about ten times for violent theft offenses. He had also been arrested for another sexual assault in Manacor (Majorca) in 2013.

After his arrest, the young man was taken to the Manacor police station. He will be extradited to Germany to answer for the acts he is accused of.
