Man Sets Himself on Fire Outside Moroccan Police Station, Investigation Underway

A judicial investigation has been opened by the judicial police brigade of the Provincial Security District of Berrechid. The aim is to elucidate the circumstances of the self-immolation of an individual aged 45 in front of a police station in the same city.
This social drama that occurred in Berrechid has been shocking. The second and third degree burns observed on the victim, a 45-year-old man, testify to the extent of the damage.
According to the press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), the initial elements of the investigation revealed that the man used an extremely flammable substance to intentionally inflict burns of varying degrees on himself.
For the moment, the motives and reasons that may justify this act are unknown. The police are multiplying investigations and inquiries to try to identify the real motives that could be related "to a criminal case currently before the courts", the same source points out. Meanwhile, the victim has been placed under medical supervision at the Ibn Rochd University Hospital Center in Casablanca.
