Police Shoot Suspect After Violent Assault on Father in Kenitra, Morocco

Elements of the police of the provincial security district of Mehdia in Kenitra were called to apprehend a suspect in a drunken state who was causing disorder and beating his father with a bladed weapon.
The 28-year-old suspect was seriously threatening his father’s life. In a statement, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) indicated that not only was the young man assaulting his father with a bladed weapon, but he also resisted arrest. Faced with the danger and the threat, the police inspectors hit the suspect in the lower limbs by firing warning shots.
Pending a judicial investigation, the suspect was placed under medical supervision in the local hospital where he is receiving the necessary care, the DGSN specifies.
