Fez Police Officer Shoots Armed Suspect During Arrest Attempt

In order to preserve the safety of citizens, a Police inspector from the support team of the Fez police prefecture, was forced to use his service weapon to apprehend a dangerous repeat offender.
According to a statement from the DGSN, the suspect, who has a criminal record, strongly resisted the police during his arrest. This outlaw was in an impulsive state and threatened the police with a large knife.
The inspector was therefore forced, according to the DGSN, to use his service weapon to neutralize this dangerous individual who was causing unrest on the public highway in the Bab El Khmiss area of Fez.
The police inspector fired a warning shot before firing another one that hit the suspect in the lower limbs, the Directorate General of National Security specifies.
It should be noted that the suspect, who was taken to the hospital, was placed under medical supervision for the necessary care. He will be subjected to a preliminary investigation by the judicial police which will be supervised by the competent prosecutor’s office in order to determine the other crimes to which he may be linked, informs the same source.
