Police Shoot Armed Suspect Threatening Civilians in Casablanca

A repeat offender who was seriously threatening citizens and police officers with a bladed weapon in Casablanca has been apprehended. To subdue the individual, a sergeant stationed at the Mobile Motorcycle Brigade had to use his service weapon.
The 22-year-old individual was in a state of strong impulsivity and was exposing the owner of a business to serious threat with a bladed weapon. A police patrol had intervened to arrest him, but he had put up strong resistance by using a bladed weapon and a dangerous breed of dog, according to the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
Faced with the threat, the sergeant was forced to use his weapon, firing a warning shot, followed by three others, one of which hit the suspect in the thigh, the DGSN said. The use of the service weapon made it possible to neutralize the dangerous individual and recover his weapon.
The suspect, with multiple criminal records, was placed under medical supervision at the local hospital for the necessary care before being subjected to a preliminary investigation under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office, to determine the ins and outs of this case.
