Man Arrested for Allegedly Killing Parents in Southern Morocco

A family tragedy took place on Thursday evening in Lqliâa, near Inezgane. The security forces arrested a man in his forties, suspected of having killed his two parents.
According to the initial findings of the investigation, the suspect would have used a piece of wood to deliver fatal blows to the head of his father and mother. The motive for this act remains unknown at this stage.
The man already had a heavy criminal record. He had been imprisoned for killing his brother’s son, near Essaouira, before being released due to his mental health condition. This release, due to extenuating circumstances, had allowed him to return to the family home.
Alerted, the Royal Gendarmerie and the local authorities quickly went to the scene of the tragedy. An investigation is underway to establish the precise sequence of events. The bodies of the victims were taken to the Hassan II Hospital in Agadir for an autopsy ordered by the public prosecutor’s office. The tragic event occurred on the fifth day of the month of Ramadan.
