Major Drug Bust at Tanger-Med Port: 19,200 Psychotropic Pills Seized from Spain-Morocco Truck

Elements of the national security operating at the port of Tanger-Med prevented on Friday an operation to traffic 19,200 psychotropic "Rivotril" tablets being transported to Morocco on board an international freight truck.
The truck was on board a ship coming from Spain. It was the control operations carried out on the seized truck that led to the seizure of the psychotropic tablets carefully hidden in the vehicle’s cabin, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN). The 41-year-old Moroccan driver was arrested.
In addition to the tablets, the search of the truck led to the seizure of large sums of money and ten mobile phones, the source of which has not yet been identified. The person concerned was placed in custody for the investigation opened in order to get hold of the other members of the network and to define the possible ramifications of this criminal activity, both nationally and internationally, concludes the DGSN.
