Marrakech Police Seize Over 6,000 Psychotropic Pills, Arrest Mother and Son

The judicial police officers in Marrakech arrested a 45-year-old woman and her 27-year-old son for possession of 6,025 psychotropic pills. Their arrest was made possible thanks to information provided by the DGST.
In a statement, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) indicated that the suspects were arrested in flagrante delicto of receiving a washing machine, which, after searches, contained 5,699 psychotropic pills of the "Rivotril" type. They would have received the washing machine from a parcel delivery company located in the "Al Ksar" district of Marrakech.
In addition to the search carried out on the machine, the police searched the suspects’ home in the Annakhil district, also in Marrakech. This allowed the seizure of 326 other "Rivotril" and "ecstasy" type pills.
A judicial investigation has been opened to identify all the people involved in this criminal activity, as well as all the criminal acts attributed to the two suspects, the DGSN said in its statement.
