Major Drug Bust on Marrakech-Agadir Highway: 500kg Cannabis, Cocaine Seized

A large quantity of drugs was seized this Sunday by the Agadir police services. The cargo was inside a light vehicle near Imintanout.
A press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) indicates that based on precise information provided by the services of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), the police arrested the driver of a car as he was leaving the rest area on the highway between Marrakech and Agadir.
The search of his vehicle allowed the police to seize 500 kg of Chira (cannabis resin) tablets ready for use as well as 42 grams of cocaine, the DGSN specifies.
Identified, the main suspect, who managed to escape, is actively being sought by the police and a national arrest warrant has been issued against him for drug trafficking.
