The vigilance of the judicial police made it possible to thwart on Wednesday a major international drug trafficking operation. The valuable information from the services of the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST) also allowed the seizure of 12.8 tons of cannabis resin.
According to the press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), this operation was carried out in the vicinity of the rural commune of Iaazanen, in the Bni Chiguer region, in the province of Nador. It allowed the seizure of a large quantity of drugs on board a truck bearing a false registration plate, as well as the arrest of three suspects with criminal records.
Still as part of this same case, the press release indicates that searches were carried out and allowed the seizure of a car bearing a false registration plate and bladed weapons, as well as ten Moroccan license plates.
This operation, recalls the DGST, is part of the intense efforts deployed by the security services in the fight against international drug and psychotropic trafficking to combat crime in all its forms.
