Major Drug Bust at Casablanca Port: Over 1 Ton of Cannabis Seized En Route to Europe

Three individuals, including a woman, were arrested on Wednesday at the port of Casablanca. They are accused of their alleged involvement with a criminal network active in international drug trafficking.
The operation set up by the judicial police in collaboration with the customs services of the port of Casablanca led to the arrest of the suspects aged between 19 and 46 years old, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
The same source specifies that a cargo of nearly 1 ton and 261 kilograms of cannabis resin was seized. The drugs were stored in shipments of zellige and mosaic on board two containers destined for export to Europe, the document states.
Arrested, the suspects were taken into custody for the needs of the investigation.
