Major Drug Bust: 5 Arrested in Morocco with Over 3 Tons of Cannabis

The judicial police of Guelmim announced, on Saturday, the seizure of 3 tons and 219 kg of cannabis followed by the arrest of five individuals who would be involved in an international drug and psychotropic trafficking network.
The arrest of the first suspect took place at the road control point at the entrance to the city after his arrival on board a utility vehicle, the DGSN said, adding that the investigations and investigations led to the arrest of the other suspects.
The searches carried out at the homes of the accused in the rural area of "Sbouya", about thirty kilometers from the city of Guelmim, made it possible to seize three cars, two inflatable boats and four other marine engines, as well as 98 bales of cannabis weighing a total of 3.219 tons, the same source said.
The suspects aged between 34 and 47 years old were placed in custody for the purposes of the judicial investigation, carried out under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office in order to determine any ramifications with the international drug trafficking networks and to arrest all the accomplices involved in these criminal acts, the statement concluded.
