Major Drug Bust: 12,600 Pills Seized in Casablanca Highway Operation

Two individuals were arrested during an operation, jointly carried out by the judicial police of Casablanca and the services of the General Directorate of National Territory Surveillance (DGST). The two suspects, one of whom has a criminal record, were apprehended in possession of 12,600 psychotropic pills.
On Friday, in a detailed press release, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) indicated that the suspects were arrested on board a rental car on the highway, at the entrance to Casablanca.
The vehicle search operation resulted in the seizure of 11,100 ecstasy tablets and 1,500 "Rivotril" tablets, in addition to a quantity of cocaine and cannabis, as well as a sum of money that would have been obtained from this illicit activity.
Aged 32 and 41 respectively, the two accused were taken into custody at the disposal of the investigation, conducted by the prefectural judicial police service, under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office, in order to determine the ramifications of this criminal act.
