Moroccan Police Seize Over 1 Ton of Hashish in Major Drug Bust Near Taza

The elements of the prefectural service of the judicial police of Fez proceeded, on Saturday, May 2, to the arrest of two individuals aged 44 and 23, for their alleged links with a drug trafficking network. This arrest was only possible thanks to the precise information provided by the services of the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST).
The two individuals, aged 44 and 23, were arrested on board a car registered in Morocco, at the level of the commune of Matmata near the city of Taza, specifies the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) in a press release. During the search operations, the police elements proceeded to seize one ton and 58 kg of chira.
Pending the elucidation of all the circumstances of this case, the determination of the trafficking circuits of the seized drugs and the identification of the ramifications and possible links of this case with drug and psychotropic trafficking networks, the two suspects have been placed in custody.
