Moroccan Police Officer Arrested in Major Cocaine Trafficking Ring

The national brigade of the judicial police arrested 4 individuals, including an agent of the Territorial Surveillance Directorate, for their alleged involvement in a network of drug and psychotropic trafficking, disclosure of professional secrets, complicity and corruption and concealment of wanted persons.
Involved in a large cocaine delivery, recently seized at Tanger-Med, the 3 suspects benefited from the complicity of the DGST agent who covered their criminal acts, while providing them with confidential information, in exchange for cash, according to the statement from the DGSN.
The 4 accused were placed in custody, at the disposal of the public prosecutor’s office, pending the determination of the circumstances of the case as well as any international ramifications of the criminal network.
An investigation is underway to allow the arrest of other persons involved in the case and the seizure of illicit proceeds from criminal acts, the statement adds, stressing that the operation is part of efforts to combat international drug and psychotropic trafficking.
