Four Arrested in Southern Morocco Drug Trafficking Bust

The elements of the judicial police of the provincial security district of Tan-Tan arrested, on Saturday, four individuals for their alleged links with a criminal network active in international drug trafficking. An achievement made possible thanks to the precise information provided by the services of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST).
Two suspects were arrested in Tan Tan on the basis of arrest warrants issued against them for their involvement in drug trafficking, in possession of a sum of 69,000 dirhams, probably from this illicit act, while the other two were apprehended in the commune of El Ouatia, 25 km south of Tan-Tan, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
The search operations, carried out in an area located 7 km north of Tan-Tan, proved fruitful: a rubber dinghy and two hidden motors in the desert, 46 packages weighing a total of one ton, 223 kg of cannabis resin, a hunting rifle, several hunting cartridges and a 4x4 vehicle were seized, the same source said.
Pending the determination of all the criminal acts attributed to them and the identification of their possible accomplices, the suspects, aged 34 to 38, were placed in custody.
