Luxury Car Sales Surge as Morocco’s Auto Market Rebounds 12.6%

The automotive market in Morocco experienced a 12.64% increase, reaching 131,637 units sold as of September 2021->art89453], with an attraction for luxury, especially German cars.
After being hit the first year by the Covid-19 crisis, which caused sales to fall by 19.7%, the automotive market was able to catch up in 2021 by achieving very good performance, according to statistics presented by the Association of Vehicle Importers in Morocco (AIVAM).
According to these figures, luxury automakers have also seen an increase in their sales. The German automaker Audi sold 2,869 units at the end of September 2021, with a market share of 2.48%, ahead of BMW (2,457 vehicles and a share of 2.13%) and Mercedes (1,890 units and a share of 1.63%).
Sales of the German brand Porsche climbed 102.7% to 225 vehicles, while Jaguar sales fell 46.22% to 121 units.
In September alone, the number of new registrations reached 13,255 units, up 3.17% compared to the same month in 2019. Automobile sales by segment recorded an increase in passenger cars of 1.92% to 11,323 units and LCVs of 11.23% to 1,932 units.
