Moroccan Auto Sales Slump 7.4% in 2022, November Sees 12.85% Drop

After three consecutive months of growth, the Moroccan automotive market has returned to a decline in sales in November 2022.
The Moroccan automotive market has returned to a decline in November after rebounds the three previous months. New car registrations decreased by 7.4% since the beginning of the year, to 145,289 units, show statistics from the Association of Importers of Automotive Vehicles in Morocco (AIVAM). They fell by 12.85% last month compared to November 2021, to a volume of 11,288 units sold.

As for light commercial vehicles (LCVs), registrations fell by 13.45% in November compared to the same month of 2021, to 1,383 units. Cumulative sales for the 2022 fiscal year have declined by 15.4% compared to the same period last year, to a volume of 16,394 units.
With 35,238 registrations, down 13.5%, Dacia remains the leading brand. It accounts for 21% of market share. The Romanian brand is followed by Renault, with 23,152 units, up 12.6% year-on-year, and Hyundai (14,030 units, +9.5%). Peugeot (10,321 units, -7.3%) and Toyota (6,737 units, 11.3%) complete the top 5.
