King Mohammed VI’s Expected Attendance at Arab Summit Signals Potential Morocco-Algeria Thaw

King Mohammed VI is announced at the next Arab summit on November 1 and 2 in Algeria. Is this leading to the thawing of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which were severed due to deep misunderstandings on the fundamental issues of the kingdom?
According to some observers, the likely participation of the sovereign in this major meeting makes it possible to envisage a relaunch of bilateral cooperation and a return to normal between Rabat and Algiers. Several signals suggest this thawing.
Recently, officials from the Algerian Ministry of Justice attended the 38th session of the Arab Ministers of Justice Council held in Morocco. "After 14 months of rupture, an Algerian minister is attending a meeting in Morocco," local media had announced. The delegation that explained the reasons for the minister’s absence even thanked the kingdom for the warm welcome it received upon arrival.
However, some Algerian officials quoted by the TSA website do not see things the same way. "No bilateral initiative is on the agenda" between the two countries during the Arab Summit in Algiers, said one of them.
