Key Smuggling Suspect Arrested in Morocco’s 2018 Tiznit Gang Violence Case

Elements of the Royal Gendarmerie of the Biougra brigade, Chtouka-Aït Baha province, put an end to the flight of one of the main suspects wanted for the horrible murders committed by gunfire and by crushing with all-terrain vehicles in Tiznit in 2018 during clashes between smuggling gangs.
The arrest of the suspect "S.B." took place in a drinks establishment. During the verification of his identity, the elements of the Royal Gendarmerie of the Biougra brigade, Chtouka-Aït Baha province, discovered that he was the subject of several national arrest warrants.
After his arrest, S.B. was handed over to the elements of the judicial police of the Tiznit brigade, as the authority in charge of the investigation, in order to be questioned about the acts attributed to him in the case of premeditated murder. Elements of the gendarmerie and security brigades of Agadir, Guelmim and Tan-Tan had already heard him in cases related to the formation of a criminal gang specializing in theft, smuggling and other serious criminal acts.
In total, more than ten people were arrested for premeditated murder among the smugglers, involved in the rivalry between smuggling gangs in the area of influence of the province of Tiznit in 2018 during separate operations. These operations were carried out by the elements of the Royal Gendarmerie of Tiznit, and those of the judicial police of Tan-Tan.
