Morocco Completes 1,050-Kilometer Tiznit-Dakhla Expressway

The Tiznit-Dakhla expressway will soon be delivered. The work on the last section connecting the Maadour roundabout in the province of Tiznit to the city of Guelmim, passing through the province of Sidi Ifni, has been completed on Friday.
The royal project of the Tiznit-Dakhla expressway is ready. The work on the three main sections of the project (Tiznit-Guelmim, 114 kilometers; Guelmim-Laâyoune, 436 kilometers; and Laâyoune-Dakhla, 500 kilometers), as well as the Sakia El Hamra bridge located at the Laâyoune bypass, have been completed.
The Tiznit-Dakhla expressway is now 100% finalized, after the completion of the last section connecting Guelmim to Tiznit, confirmed the director of the institution in charge of the realization of this large-scale project.
This project launched by King Mohammed VI aims to connect the north and south of Morocco and to connect the kingdom to the hinterland countries, recalled the official, stressing the participation of national skills (companies, laboratories and engineering firms) in this project.
The official also emphasized the significant social and economic impact of this project on the populations of the Moroccan Sahara, noting that the Tiznit-Dakhla expressway, at a total cost of more than 10 billion dirhams, aims to improve road safety and reduce travel time and cost for citizens.
