The Royal Gendarmerie dismantled on Sunday a dangerous criminal network that was spreading terror in the locality of Oulmès, Khémisset province.
The members of this criminal gang, three men and a woman, had taken hostages who were freed by the elements of the Royal Gendarmerie of Khémisset, during a lightning operation, reports Assabah.
"After a raid carried out in a residence in the locality of Oulmès, in coordination with the gendarmes of the brigades of Tiddas, Oulmès and Maâziz, under the supervision of the regional commander of the royal gendarmerie of Khémisset, the hostages were released and the head of the gang, alias "Ouajh Diba" ("Wolf Face") and three other members of this gang, including a woman known in the region for her aggressiveness and excessive drug use, were arrested," details the daily.
During this operation carried out with a drone and dogs, "the members of this criminal gang, who fiercely resisted the elements of the royal gendarmerie, took the hostages as human shields, while at the same time attacking the mobile intervention forces with gas cylinders, stones and bladed weapons," the publication continues, adding that one member of the gang was arrested, before the woman and another who had fled were apprehended.
Meanwhile, the gang leader threatened to kill his hostages, not hesitating to seriously injure one of them by inflicting violent blows. Faced with the situation, the gendarmes tried to negotiate with the criminal. Finally, he was neutralized by other elements of the mobile intervention who came as reinforcements.
