Jonathan Harroch, owner of City Club, tried for human trafficking and drug use

The court has set December 2nd as the date for the opening of Harroch’s trial, after the postponed hearing of last week, in order to allow the defense to better prepare and ensure the summoning of the plaintiffs as civil parties. Jonathan Harroch is being prosecuted for human trafficking, drug use and other serious offenses. During the detailed investigation, the owner of the "City Club" clubs rejected the charges against him outright.

The accused was arrested in a hotel room, in the company of two young women who had the sum of 15,000 dirhams on them, which they would have received from the businessman. Heard by the investigating judge, the two young women claimed to have been victims of sexual harassment by the accused. Subsequently summoned for a confrontation with Jonathan Harroch, they did not show up, making this necessary meeting to establish the truth impossible.

While some of the plaintiffs had never worked within the "City Club" clubs, others had been employed there and one of them would have been promised a job by the accused, who is in pre-trial detention at the Oukacha prison in Casablanca, pending the opening of his trial. Harroch was arrested as part of investigations related to the issuance of bounced checks amounting to several million dirhams. At the time of his arrest, he was in possession of 2.5 grams of cocaine.
