Japanese Logistics Giant Nippon Express Expands Automotive Operations in Morocco
Established in Morocco since 2017, the Japanese group Nippon Express has decided to expand its activities in order to take advantage of the kingdom’s reputation in the automotive industry.
According to Kuniaki Matsushima, Managing Director of Nippon Express Morocco, Morocco is a country with strong potential in the automotive sector. "We intend to accelerate the development of all kinds of logistics activities focused not only on the automotive industries, but also on other areas, particularly electrical and aeronautical. Our wish is to maintain the growth of our activities, while respecting Japanese standards and in close collaboration with Moroccan know-how and skills," he assured.
For the group, the fact that Morocco is the second largest automotive producer in Africa, and an important market for Europe, also argued in favor of the group’s establishment. In December 2017, Nippon Express set up in Morocco with the opening of an office in Casablanca. Two years later, it expanded its activities with the inauguration of a logistics center in Tanger Med.
