Italy offers Moroccan students €8,000 scholarships for master’s studies
Moroccan students are among the recipients of annual €8,000 scholarships to pursue a master’s degree in Italy. For the 2026-2027 academic year, the ITALYOU programme is offering 70 new scholarships to students from seven African countries, starting on October 1.

The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms Morocco’s participation in this fourth edition, alongside Algeria, Cameroon, Egypt, Libya, Senegal and Tunisia. Each scholarship is paid in twelve monthly instalments.

The funding is for a specific programme: the master’s degree in “Italian for Teaching to Foreigners”, offered by the University for Foreigners of Perugia. The aim is to train graduates who can then teach Italian in their home countries.
In addition to financial support, recipients are exempt from university tuition fees. According to the university, recipients are only required to pay the regional tax for the right to study.
Selection through local partners
To enrol in this funded programme, applicants apply through universities and partner organisations in their country. The University for Foreigners of Perugia coordinates the selection process with their support and the participation of Italian diplomatic missions.
Interested students should contact their institution or local partner organisation to find out about application opportunities. Launched in 2023-2024, the programme is funded by the Italian Ministry, while the university handles scholarship payments.
