Morocco Leads in Foreign Student Enrollment at French Universities, Campus France Reports

As in recent years, Morocco maintains its position at the top of the ranking of countries of origin for foreign students enrolled in French higher education.
According to statistics from the French Agency for the Promotion of Higher Education (Campus France), France had 430,000 for the 2023-2024 academic year. A figure that brings it closer to its goal of welcoming 500,000 foreign students by 2027.
With a total of 43,354 students, a number that has remained stable for several years, Morocco tops the ranking of countries of origin for foreign students enrolled in French higher education in 2023-2024. Moroccan students represent about 10% of all foreign students in France. However, their number has experienced a slight decrease of 4% for the second consecutive year. According to experts, this decrease in numbers is explained by the development of the university system in Morocco, with a growing offer of universities and higher education institutions, particularly private ones.
