Israeli Foreign Minister Plans Official Visit to Morocco Amid Diplomatic Talks

Following the invitation addressed to his Moroccan counterpart Nasser Bourita, Yaïr Lapid, the Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs, plans to visit Morocco. The two parties are preparing this official visit.
The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs is in talks with Morocco to prepare the visit of the head of Israeli diplomacy to Rabat, reports Times of Israel. This announcement follows the invitation that Yaïr Lapid addressed to his Moroccan counterpart through the Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Alon Ushpiz, who met Nasser Bourita in Rabat last week as part of an official visit.
"The Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Alon Ushpiz, handed over a letter in my name to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Morocco, Nasser Bourita, inviting him to make the first official visit of a Moroccan head of diplomacy to Israel," the Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs had tweeted. According to him, the complete renewal of diplomatic relations between Israel and Morocco, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, is a historic step in the relations between the two peoples.
In a statement released last Thursday, Yaïr Lapid said the invitation showed that the normalization of diplomatic relations between the two countries and their citizens was an "absolute priority" for Israel. He thanked the sovereign for the leadership and inspiration he has given to the process. The head of Israeli diplomacy says he is "eager to strengthen the political ties between Israel and Morocco and to build economic, technological, cultural and tourism cooperation between the two countries."
